If you want to move your masternode to a new public key (e.g. to a hardware wallet), you will need to send 1,000 Dash in a single transaction to the new address and launch a new masternode. Moving your 1,000 Dash collateral will take your existing masternode offline.
Here are the steps:
Fund a new public key (receive address)
Send exactly 1,000 DASH to a new public key in the wallet of your choice. This will drop your old node offline. Remember the old node will no longer receive reward payments.
Contact NODE40
Email NODE40 at support@node40.com when you are ready to launch a new node. We will credit your account for a month of service.
Launch New Node
From your NODE40 account, launch a masternode using the new public key.
Payment Option
Select one month of service for the payment step. This will allow you to bypass sending us an additional hosting fee.
Remote-start your new masternode
Follow the steps you would normally take to remote-start your masternode. Once the new masternode is running and enabled, we will manually change the renewal date to match the original masternode.
